Are You Compatible?

A/V Input:

Helmet Camera systems basically can be divided up into two parts:

  1. The helmet camera "stuff" - what we provide you

  2. The recorder - your camcorder, Archos or other type of Personal Video Recorder (PVR)

So the only thing you need to verify is if you already have a compatible recorder or what to look for if purchasing one.

Helmetcam systems employ micro-cameras and external microphones to record the video/audio, and then send the signal down a cable (i.e. "cable harness") to your recorder for permanent storage. In turn, "compatibility" really means "can the recorder you plan to use accept an INCOMING video/audio signal?". All recorders will play back to a VCR/TV but to be compatible you must also be able to record FROM a VCR/TV, to your recorder. If you already know you can, you have a compatible recorder.

LANC:

This connector port is needed to use our remote, we've found that most Sony and some Canon camcorders have this port.

If unsure about the A/V Input or LANC please refer to our "Compatibility List Page," consult your manual, call/email the manufacturer, or contact us.
